
“I found it quite quickly,” Mr Lobwein said. “They were everywhere swimming together in couples or in clumps. About 24 of them were sitting on a blade of grass. They are young so one in maybe 1000 survive as birds and fish take them. It’s quite surprising how fast they go, they are efficient little swimmers relative to their size. They are textured, very golden and blend in with their environment. They didn’t seem affected by my camera.”
