We’re proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Unmanned Defense Systems UAB (UDS), a leading Lithuanian developer of unmanned defense platforms. Through this partnership, we will integrate 5G Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) connectivity via our LEO satellite fleet into advanced defense drone systems.
In a recent collaboration with Airbus Central Research, OQ Technology successfully demonstrated a LEO-to-Drone 5G NTN link over MSS S-band, achieving ~5 kbps throughput with ~99.95% connection continuity even during aerobatic maneuvers, a world-first milestone showcasing the resilience of satellite 5G connectivity for aerial platforms.
This collaboration combines OQ Technology’s Direct-to-Device 5G NTN connectivity over MSS S-band and upper C-band, with UDS’s defense expertise to deliver secure communications, resilience, and global operational reach for next-generation unmanned operations.
